N'DangR Species was formed by long-time friends Luse Kanz and Maf Maddix, often accompanied by DJ Brooklyn Airlift. After years of doing shows together and featuring on each other's projects, Luse and Maf recorded a mixtape which was mixed by DFLN and supported by Psyoptic Records. After touring to spread awareness, the mixtape was turned into an album through collaboration with the Dutch producer, Roel Funcken. A collaborative project with Paten Locke and a debut album were planned but neither have been released.
